Clothing the land with blessings

Psalm 84 is a favourite of mine.  I love the bit in verse 6 that speaks about people who, going through Valley of Baca (the way of adversity and suffering through the Bitter Valley) find it to be a place of springs.  The unexpected upwelling and refreshment of grace in the aridity of hard experience.  And the second part of the same verse speaks about the rain clothing the land with blessings.

This morning after too many dry days I woke to the freshness of night rain newly fallen.  The cracked earth where the young grass is growing has soaked it up thirstily, and everywhere life is surging on a day of blue and sunshine.

I remember John Wimber preaching about how the Lord took him outside to look at the massing rainclouds, saying to him “The clouds are big with mercy, John.”

The rainfall is mercy, is blessing upon the land; and I thank God this morning for the wet garden.

365 366 Day 95 – Wednesday April 4th

The Badger and I shall be away to Spring Harvest first thing tomorrow returning on the 10th, and I’m not sure what will await us on return, though the rest of the household will be here so life will chug on as normal.   But I’m posting this picture for today through to and including the 11th.  I can’t remember how many CDs were in this folder – upwards of twenty.  I freecycled it along with the other one I posted earlier.  So it counts for a few days :0)
